The Child Will Be Great ......

This is the title of the recent memoir by Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Liberia.

After I heard her interviewed, I was reminded of the old debate about nature vs nuture, about Free Will (the power of acting without the constraint of necessity or fate; the ability act at one's own discretion) vs Fate (the development of events beyond a person's control, regarded as determined by a supernatural power). President Johnson-Sirleaf claims that as a child a visitor came to her family's village and said that she was born to be great. [Of course, they did not mention the difficult path she would inevitably walk down.]

Does this mean that if someone came to your village and told you that you were born to be average and boring that that is it? No options? Your Fate is sealed?

As a Hand Analyst, I run into this fate thing - "that's the way my story has gone, no changing it" often enough. When you understand Life Purpose as a soul imprint from your fingerprints, you can begin to understand that it is a kind of conciousness and awareness learned and developed. You are not born an "Artist" or a "Patriarch" - 2 examples of Life Purpose according to the fingerprints - and live it from day one. You are born to learn about the higher consciousness of this path through trial and error. You can be it, live it or live in the absolute opposite all of your life. This is YOUR CHOICE.

So - your choice means you have free will. If a soothsayer comes to your village and says you are to be an ordinary laborer, this does not seal the deal. You get to choose your life in accordance with your soul imprint or contract and by strengthening the true nature of your personality which is reflected in the rest of your hands. Be true to your self and believe that you have a choice. Make the most of your natural potential while learning life's lessons from the nurture (or lack thereof!) experience.

All comments are welcome. This is a juicy topic.
